Nights of cheese at RSC in Stratford
The show, which is taking place at the Swan Room, is a cheese and wine tasting evening with a fictional narrative.
The story takes place on the evening of The Guild of Cheesemakers’ Annual Tasting where a panel of culinary experts have gathered to guide the guests of the Guild on a gastronomic journey. The scene is set as tables are laid out with crisp white cloths and a superb selection of artisan cheeses, wines and breads are presented for digestion and discussion. But amongst the fine fare on offer is a cheese like no other, a cheese which some believe has mystical powers: the mysterious 198th cheese in The Book of Curds. Gradually, the secrets of the 198th are uncovered, leading all who sample it to question the very essence of life and to make a collective decision that could alter humanity forever.
