Southam College pupils learn from acting entrepreneurs
Pupils at Southam College were able to experience contemporary theatre up close as a nationwide tour of free performances run by two student entrepreneurs visited the school.
Newcastle 20-year-olds Daniel Middlewood and Conor Lowson set up Overcoming Theatre after receiving a £25,000 Government start-up loan - and are now travelling the country with their Big Theatre Campaign to bring 100 ‘flash mobs’ - condensed stories expressed through drama - to audiences over 50 days.
Conor said: “We want to break down some of the stigma attached to contemporary theatre and give everyone a chance to experience it. Our workshops equip actors with tools and techniques to develop their acting skills, making them more employable.”
